About Kate Boon

Cincinnati Ohio has always been home to me. When exploring colleges, I knew University of Cincinnati was where I wanted to be for several reasons, but the top one being the engineering and COOP program. At UC I am in pursuit of obtaining a degree in Civil Engineering. I hope to use my COOP endeavors to explore what fields of CE and work environments ignite my passions the most. I am currently most interested in construction and transportation. Classes I have attended such as CE Measurements, Surveying, and Construction Drawings have allowed me to experience pieces of my potential futures in Civil Engineering. I also have experience with the programs Bentley Open Roads, Revit, and AutoCAD. I am in involved in many groups and service organizations at UC including Society of Women in Engineering (SWE), the ASCE, and UC Knits Club. I worked my first two COOP semesters at Sevan Multi-Site Solutions where I was able to work in project management and civil engineering site design to gain experience and grow in my skills. I am currently exploring my interest in the transportation field with a COOP at American Structurepoint INC. I look forward to continuing my education and expanding my knowledge with my time at the University of Cincinnati and in my COOP endeavors
