About Kate Cameron

I am a dynamic, innovative, diligent Occupational Therapist with 22 years of clinical experience. I am motivated towards evidence-based practice to help my clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. I am a quick learner, flexible and adaptable to a range of different funding and clinical environments.I am currently employed at Enabled Designs where I have been for the past two years, servicing NDIS clients. Enabled Designs is a national company who focus on complex assistive technology and home modifications. Within my time at Enabled Designs, I have been involved in complex client assessments and intervention programs, assistive technology assessments, AT reports (including support letters, mid-cost AT reports and high-cost AT applications), home modifications, complex housing applications, complex discharge planning and capacity building interventions. I enjoy many aspects of this job and am competent in a range of OT areas such as pressure care intervention, wheelchair prescription, hoist prescription and training, home assessment and modification and client education. I see a variety of different clientele and am skills in a broad range of standardised and non-standardised assessments. Prior to working at Enabled Designs I was with Better Rehab. This was a generalist OT position whereby I serviced a range of clientele in the areas of mental health, physical disabilities, progressive neurological disability, vision and hearing impairment, intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disabilities such as autism. This position allowed me to gain experience with a diverse range of disabilities and provide goal orientated treatment to improve the functional capacity of my clients. Prior to working at Better Rehab, I was employed at Aegis Aged Care and developed an extensive set of skills including ADL assessments, OT and cognitive assessments, home visiting, AT assessment and prescription, pressure care management, falls prevention, designing and monitoring therapy programs, carer education and client education. During my time employed at Aegis I worked over two sites, Montgomery House and Ascot Transitional Care Facility. I enjoyed TCP and this drove my desire to more into a more community-based role. Prior to Aegis I spent much of my professional life working in ergonomics, soft tissue and corporate health, working at Bodysmart Health Solutions.
