About Kate Carr

Kate is a BKD Private Client Services (PCS) advisor and provides sophisticated income, gift and estate tax planning and compliance services to individuals, families, businesses, fiduciaries, and private foundations. As part of the PCS team, she uses a forward-looking approach to help BKD clients grow and preserve assets, defer income and reduce taxes. She also assists with the continued monitoring and assessment of planning techniques to help accomplish client goals and objectives. She has more than 29 years of tax experience in public accounting. Prior to joining BKD, she worked for more than 10 years with national firms. She also provides tax planning and compliance for manufacturers, distributors, retail entities and other privately held companies and helps client identify issues related to federal guidelines, state filings, accounting methods and international tax matters. Kate has conducted a variety of internal and external educational seminars on topics including tax planning for private foundations, exit planning for privately held companies, generation-skipping transfer tax, and fiduciary income tax. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Colorado Society of CPAs, Rocky Mountain and Denver Estate Planning Councils. She is a former member of the Colorado Philanthropic Advisors Network and Social Venture Partners. She is past president of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Colorado Springs. She earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. Kate has served on the board of Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado and the Planned Giving Committees of Memorial Health System Foundation and Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation.
