About Kate Cochran
My career so far has centered on supporting state government agencies across the country taking on complex modernization and process improvement projects in a variety of program areas, including Medicaid, child support, criminal justice, driver/motor vehicle, and tax. In the summer of 2021, I returned to my home state and joined the Iowa Department of Revenue as the Technology Support Bureau Chief. Our Modernization Program, a generational transformation which encompasses the migration of numerous legacy tax processing systems into a single vendor COTS solution, is well underway with four successful rollouts and our fifth and final taking place in 2025. I'm proud of the team I've built and the processes we've put in place to capitalize on the investment we are making. My bureau has recently expanded to also include Strategy Facilitation and Delivery and I am currently establishing the Department's Strategy Realization Office. I'm honored to serve the great people of Iowa!
