About Kate Compton

I am an artist and an educator who strives to experience the world through exploration, experimentation, and play. If you were to break my experience down into a recipe, it would include a sprinkle of Viola Spolin and Improvisation for the Theater, a dash of Uta Hagen and A Challenge for the Actor, a slice of Julia Cameron and The Artist’s Way, and one cup of Mr. Sanford Meisner. I have been a Professional Actor for over 20 years and have expertise in the world of theatre, film, and commercials. I also specialize in Improvisation and Sketch Comedy. Currently, I'm finishing up my MFA in Acting from Northwestern University and have had the privilege of working and learning from many creative geniuses including Anna Shapiro, Sandra Marquez, Stanley Brown, Roger Ellis, and Helena S. Kays. An an Instructor, I am devoted to helping my students explore who they are and all of the possibilities that inhabit the human condition. I believe the best way to learn something is by doing. As an Artist, I blend body, mind, and soul to bring the stage and screen to life.
