Kate Cowing, AIA, is the principal of Kate Cowing Architect, LLC (WBE) an architecture firm with a specialization in the reuse and restoration of historic buildings. She is both an architectural conservator and a registered architect with more than 25 years experience. Over the years, she has had the pleasure of working on a wide variety of buildings including churches, municipal buildings, museums, and even a family mausoleum and a zinc mine. Kate has a BArch from Drexel University and a MS in Historic Preservation with a specialization in conservation from the University of Pennsylvania. She is an adjunct professor of historic preservation at both Temple University and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Kate served on the design team for the Zion Baptist Church, Sacred Places / Civic Spaces project as the historic preservation consultant.
