About Kate Dobens

Kate is a highly experienced dental industry executive with over fifteen years of experience in dental practice acquisition, development, and management. Kate currently functions as the President & COO of Mesh Dental Network, a disruptive practice aggregation platform located in Hurst, Texas. Prior to Mesh, Kate co-founded Vardiman Black, a specialty dental DSO supporting pediatric dental, endodontic and orthodontic practices which now operates under the name of Specialty Dental Brands. She is also a founder of Dental Specialty Education, a Pediatric Dental Residency training program located in Nashville, TN. She teaches dental practice management at NYU Langone Dental Medicine, postdoctoral residency program. Prior to her focus in the dental field, she was the creator of and principal instructor of the Two Day MBA program and the founder of Business On Point, a management consulting practice focused on augmenting financial literacy of executive management teams leading to significantly improved financial performance and risk management. With over thirty years of experience in business (corporate finance, equity capital and entrepreneurship), Kate brings a deep perspective on business growth and operational development. After earning her MBA from Babson in international finance she worked for ten years in corporate finance (senior and mezzanine debt financings) and venture capital. In Kate left the corporate environment in favor of being an entrepreneur. Having raised capital and bootstrapped multiple start-up companies, she understands capital formation and the key drivers of a business’ value. She has experience building out multiple business functions including: client attraction, marketing, HR, financial management, IT, legal and compliance with a focus on driving results.
