About Kate Gibbs

I am a problem solver, committed to working collaboratively to improve the health of workers in high-risk industries and actively reduce the risk of harm at work. I am an experienced subject matter expert that provides up to date, strategic advice that identifies high risk areas for the business together with practical solutions. I have provided technical subject matter advice within rail, construction, transport, local government and major infrastructure projects. I am passionate about my work, dedicated to best practice, and determined to deliver excellence in performance. I hold postgraduate qualifications in both occupational health and safety and occupational hygiene, and I am dedicated to continuous improvement. I completed my OH studies at RMIT in 2022. As part of my studies, I examined respirable and inhalable dust exposure to workers when drilling composite railway sleepers, the first hygiene study of its type in Australia. I finished in the top 2% of all RMIT students in 2022 and was placed on the Vice-Chancellor’s List for Academic Excellence, receiving an award for topping the class of OHS for GPA. I am an AIOH Associate Member, and I am one of the two SA AIOH State Liaison Officers.
