About Kate Golding

Kate qualified as a general nurse in 1998 and spent the next six years working in Accident and Emergency and prison nursing. In Kate completed a BSc Psychology and has a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice from The University of Southampton. Kate has taught health and social care and psychology and continues to work privately as a training consultant in the area of infant, child, adolescent and adult mental health. Kate was seconded from CAMHS for eight years to various settings including early years, schools and forensics. In addition to this, Kate was one of the leads for the targeted mental health in schools project on the Isle of Wight. Kate worked as a Consultant Nurse for the Autism Diagnostic Research Centre where she was commissioned to undertake autism diagnoses. Following this, Kate set up and led a service for children with life shortening conditions at Mountbatten hospice. Working alongside the team of educational and clinical psychologists at Bridges for Learning as a Consultant Nurse, Kate continues to work in the core MDT providing autism assessment. Kate has provided clinical supervision for psychologists, nurses and social workers and currently, Kate provides clinical supervision for a large setting with patients who have profound and complex needs. Kate is a trainer for nurture training and youth, adult mental health and suicide first aid among other bespoke packages around mental health and emotional wellbeing. Kate has trained regularly for LA's, NHS, The Prince’s Trust, Oxford Brookes, MIND, schools, foster care teams early years, social care, Great Ormond Street hospital and many more including at the Houses of Parliament. Feedback is always excellent and the attendees often comment about Kate’s engaging delivery style, expert knowledge and say as well as having learnt masses of information, they have had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. In 2019 Kate was one of the authors for the MHFA England Youth half day aware course, manual and workbook. Kate also delivered mental health training in Spain and Latvia raising her international profile. 2020 brought Covid 19 and Kate was asked to do a piece of work for NHS England, Homeless Link and MHFA England delivering lots of training to a range of professionals and volunteers supporting rough sleepers and the homeless. In 2021, Kate was a keynote speaker at the MIND Jersey annual conference talking about reconnecting with hope during the COVID 19 pandemic. Kate trained the newly formed NHS England and NHS Improvement team responsible for the COVID 19 inquiry.
