About Kate Hunter

I’m driven by the desire to understand how people move through, feel in, and connect with places — particularly the natural world. Through the lens of environmental psychology, I enjoy looking at how to modify and deepen the experience of place through wayfinding, art, deep reflection, and spatial design. This curiosity has taken me through work involving a deep creative practice, the study of human experience, and into incredibly satisfying leadership roles. In my current work as a Studio Operations Manager at a landscape architecture firm, I'm leading the transformation of how projects are tracked and organized by developing an intuitive system that supports creativity while enhancing clarity and efficiency. Even in this operational work, I'm able to apply the lens of environmental psychology (how we respond to space, structure, and flow) to help the team feel more grounded in their projects. My goal is to make project management process an extension of the firm's core values, which will foster confidence and reduce stress. I continue to learn more about Indigenous knowledge systems from our team daily. I’m grateful to be part of a studio that prioritizes culturally grounded, story-informed design!
