Background
About Kate Masschelein
I'm a big fan of Rich Roll (look him up). The guy reinvented himself from being a drug, alcohol and work addicted uninspired lawyer to a vegan ultra-athlete, author, speaker and successful podcast host. That takes grit, self-confidence and a relentless belief that living your purpose is the best way to thrive in life. 🫂I'm on my own journey of self-discovery (minus the addictions) after leaving my corporate career. As I'm embarking on building a fulfilling and exciting portfolio career, I know I want to continue to have an impact on leaders and companies around the world through my healthcare & MedTech expertise, advisory and board roles, executive coaching, leadership development, facilitation and public speaking. I can help you, your team and your company. Born and raised in Belgium, I lived and worked in different countries in Europe and the United States. My career has taken me to all four corners of the world giving me a rich appreciation for and deep understanding of leaders with diverse cultural backgrounds. I'm married to a Brit, whom I met on the Great Wall of China. We became US citizens and live happily in the Bay Area with our two cats. 🩺I've worked for two Fortune 100 companies and spent over two decades at Johnson & Johnson. Through a wide variety of different roles on a local, regional and global level, my team and I made an impact on patients through device and digital innovation that serve surgeons and hospitals every day. I have built and grown businesses through leadership positions in sales, product and brand marketing, running the P&L of a multi-billion-dollar global device platform, sustainability, supply chain and founding a digital start-up at J&J. I lived through the joys and challenges of navigating the corporate world with the awards and scars to prove it. 🧘With all that said, one of my proudest accomplishments is becoming a mindfulness meditation teacher and leading meditation sessions for my colleagues every week throughout the pandemic. Relieving them from suffering through some of our darkest times simply by focusing on the breath solidified my purpose to serve others. When I'm not behind a laptop, you can find me in the kitchen. I love cooking and (fine) dining. I have about 200+ books to read, travel to places we've not been to yet, good movies and open water swimming. Friends can always hit me up for a pep-talk. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn. I can help you find clarity, self-compassion and peace as you navigate your own career transitions and life's challenges.
