About Kate McCabe

As a graduate of the Health Office Administration program at Conestoga College, I have obtained many skills to help facilitate and optimize solutions to the ever-changing challenges and fluctuations of the health care industry. I have worked at Grand River Hospital for ten years working as a clinical secretary in the Renal Program while continually expanding my experiences and knowledge of working in the health care industry. My current position as the Hemodialysis Patient Scheduler has provided me opportunity to increase my critical thinking skills and find forward thinking solutions daily to help provide high level of care to dialysis patients. I have a strong ability to prioritize tasks, the ability to adapt my communication skills with patients and with my coworkers, and to ensure mistakes are not made while adhering to the confidentiality and safety of our patients. Having the opportunity to be a super user for Cerner Millennium has brought me the ability to train and understand new technology quickly and efficiently. I have had many opportunities to expand my skill sets through event coordination, additional school certifications, assisting executives, and being a liaison to coordinate services to assist patients with their medical needs. I am looking to continue to expand my knowledge and career within the healthcare industry and would be a valuable employee to future employers.
