About Kate McKegney

I am an experienced master’s level educator with a background in oral storytelling, culturally responsive teaching and pedagogy research. With over ten years’ experience in education, I have a strong track record of using my knowledge of current best-practice and education trends to help every child realize their potential. Known as a caring, supportive colleague with strong skill in public speaking, education research, curriculum design, and relationship building. I am passionate about education equity and using my experience to support teachers to create environments in which all children are successful. I completed a master’s research project on oral storytelling as pedagogy, and I value the importance of traditional ways of knowing and learning. I have enjoyed opportunities to deliver lectures and workshops on oral storytelling in the classroom, helping teachers gain confidence embracing culturally responsive pedagogies.
