Hi! I'm Kate. I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, and animator, with a decade of experience in the industry. These days I'm Principal Creative Director for Giant Steps at GoGuardian. I oversee the talented creative team developing Giant Steps, a gamified K-12 retrieval practice experience that emphasizes student collaboration and joyful engagement.My career trajectory has taken me through a lot of different roles: screenprint designer, customer service rep, copywriter, stationery brand entrepreneur, editorial illustrator, advertising designer, assistant art director, animator, and more, usually with some degree of overlap. What can I say? I like to keep busy. Each job has taught me something, whether it’s how to prepare separations for T-shirt printing or how to make an “ice cream” that won’t melt under hot studio lights (Crisco!). I like to think that I’ve taken the most useful lessons with me and rolled them all together into a pretty diverse skill set. Nothing excites me more than a new challenge, though, so if I don’t know how to do something, you can bet I’ll figure it out.
