Background
About Kate Nash
I am an optimist, a storyteller, an author, an adviser & a stimulus of social movements. 35+ year’s of employer, disability rights strategic & political advice. After 2 decades in CEO / leadership roles I invented ‘Networkology' in 2008: a change model that combines the 'art & science' know-how about how to deliver high-performing disability ERGs. This practical leadership learning helps ERG leaders to tackle the profound 'human resisters' to internal change. In 2014 my first book was published, ‘Secrets & Big News’: how & why we chose to share information about disability at work. Researched 2,500 employees across 55 employer brands. The book led to a global demand for me to create a world-wide network of disability ERGs. So I did. In 2015 I founded PurpleSpace - the world’s only leadership development network for ERGs. In 2025 it stands as a community of leaders across circa 170 employers, across 52 countries, reaching 1.5 million employees with disabilities. In 2017, from a Tweet, I created the global #PositivelyPurple movement (formally #PurpleLightUp)- employees, allies & champions celebrating the contribution of employees with disabilities to economies around the world. On 3rd December,#PositivelyPurple is an annual mark of respect to the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities & builds community & unity between disability ERGs. In 2022 my second book 'Positively Purple' was published by Kogan Page. It won DEI category of Business Book of the Year Awards 2023 & finalist in the social/political category of Indie Excellence Awards 2023. In 2024 I transferred ownership of PurpleSpace to Scope & began evidence-based research for a series of four new books. They will offer practical tools for disabled people to build and sustain our inner confidence in order we achieve economic, technological, political & personal liberation. I host the Confident Conversation Series for PurpleSpace interviewing CEO/C-Suite leaders with lived experience of disability. I have been a guide & mentor to many ERG leaders & C-Suite champions of FTSE 100 companies. I regularly speak at international conferences & summits. In 2007 I was awarded an OBE for services to disabled people. I get things done. X:@KateNashOBE kate@katenashassociates.com For further info about PurpleSpace, visit website:
