About Kate Roberts

Hello, I’m Kate and I passionately talk with individuals about their mental health. We work together to discuss what they have been experiencing and the practical therepuetic skills that can facilitate greater health. I work with women, students, and trans and queer folk. I specialize in supporting people with ADHD, anxiety, depression, attachment struggles, relationships, trauma, life transitions, and many other areas of need. I enjoy collaborating with fellow therapists on therapeutic workshops, and community partners to create symbiotic opportunities for our mutual clients. I began counselling 9 years ago at CMHA and Ontario Works, and practicing therapies 6 years ago at Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre. Since then, I worked with the House Of Commons during the pandemic which highlighted the vast disparities amongst citizens and increased hardships from various socioeconomic statuses. I responded to crisis calls and visits, community disarray, and political and social concerns and questions from our Peterborough-Kawartha constituents and from people living across Canada and the globe. After our office closed, I worked in social services for the City of Peterborough for a short contract before coaching recent Trent University graduates. I counselled graduates to their next life goals by guiding them through decision making, confidence building techniques, and skills building practices. I now work full-time in my private practice. I am accepting new clients and I offer sliding scale rates to persons who do not have insurance and experience financial barriers to mental health support.
