About Kate Roche

I'm an experienced senior researcher and project management professional principally in consultancy and government settings. My work over the last 14 years has covered a wide range of sectors, mainly in governance, security and justice sectors but as a generalist I've also successfully undertaken assignments in various social sectors (education, health, livelihoods) and environment and natural resource management. I've lived and worked in Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain, Vietnam, and undertaken in-country and remote assignments in Eastern Europe (particularly Ukraine), Western Balkans, Central Asia, several countries in Africa (Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Zambia, Djibouti) and South Asia (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka). My core strengths are in designing, operationalising and/or strengthening effective monitoring, evaluation, research and learning systems and strategies for development programmes, in a wide range of contexts, including Fragile and Conflict Affected States (FCAS). I've also overseen and technically delivered theory based; case based and mixed methods research for range of clients including DFID, FCDO and British Council. I'm passionate about ensuring research and evidence can best influence impactful and sustainable policy and programming. I have proven ability in delivering timely, high quality results throughout the project management cycle, integrated with strong management, quality assurance, reporting, financial and budget management skills. I've significant experience of business acquisition, managing the full bid cycle for different donors in the international development sector.
