About Kate Rogers

My career path has encompassed work as a non-profit fundraiser, event planner, and social media coordinator, all of which provided me with a diverse skill set adaptable across many industries. I've learned how to cultivate relationships and coordinate operations and relief efforts with local, state, and federal governments in multiple countries; organized awareness and fundraising campaigns with local, national, and international media; and supported rebranding and crisis communication efforts for major global brands. These early career choices helped to lay the foundational skills for my current career as a domestic and sexual violence advocate and gender norms researcher. I recently completed my doctorate in public health, with research focusing on adolescent gender and social norms, gender-based violence, sexual education, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health, particularly in the global health context. I come to this degree with extensive field experience working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence, as well as in violence prevention, including delivery and design of sexual violence prevention education curricula for adolescents across New York State. Most recently I am working as a research analyst for PRESTO Policy Solutions, LLC on a UNICEF-commissioned project to evaluate social protection programming and HIV pathways in African adolescents.
