About Kate Rombough

I have 14 years of teaching and course design experience in all modalities and with every age group, from kindergarten through to undergraduate and graduate programs and professional development courses. I have recently returned to my roots as a K-12 classroom teacher and am currently teaching at a secondary school in the UCDSB, leaving my role as an instructional designer for Professional Studies in the Faculty of Education at Queen's University to do so. My previous positions include Health Education Associate and Learning Experience Advisor (OPDES, Queen's Health Sciences) and Instructional Design Associate (Queen's Law). I also served as the Lead Instructional Designer for an eCampus Ontario virtual learning project helping St. Clair College develop digital capacity and faculty resources for online learning. I have both education development and subject matter expert experience and am passionately committed to inclusive and accessible education. Prior to my roles at Queen's, I taught Adult Basic Education programming for the Correctional Service of Canada from 2011 to 2020. My academic teaching experience includes teaching online Additional Qualification courses with Queen's University's Continuing Teacher Education department and as a partial load college Communications professor since 2017. I completed my Master of Education degree at Queen's University in 2016 and received my Instructional Skills Workshop professional certificate in Adult Education in the fall of 2020.
