About Kate Rossman

With a background in public policy and advocacy, I currently work for the Ohio Children’s Alliance, where I focus on advancing child welfare, mental health, education, and disability services initiatives across the state. My role involves legislative analysis, strategic communications, and building partnerships that support our mission to improve the well-being of Ohio’s children and families. Before joining the Children’s Alliance, I worked as a Legislative Aide and Senior Legislative Aide in the Ohio State Senate, where I gained deep insights into the legislative process, policy development, and coalition building. My experience there honed my ability to navigate complex policy issues, advocate for meaningful change, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to craft common sense solutions for Ohioans. It also fueled my passion for children’s issues, with my work focusing on education, health care, and juvenile justice reform. In addition to my professional work, I hold leadership roles in organizations such as Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity and am an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), where I contribute to efforts in historical preservation and civic engagement. I am passionate about creating systems that support children, families, and communities, and I bring that focus into all aspects of my work.
