About Kate Sargent

The associations industry is my passion. I am a driven CEO of a UK charity who is dedicated to the collaborations between our Society and our commercial subsidiary, which provides scholarly publishing, events and association management services. The Society of Endocrinology and Bioscientifica exist to strengthen biomedical communities to advance science and health. With a distinguished career in the charity and not-for-profit sectors, I offer visionary leadership and am known for driving ambitious, results-oriented initiatives and proactively delivering innovative, forward-thinking solutions. As the CEO of the Society for Endocrinology and MD of Bioscientifica Ltd, I excel in translating organisational vision into impactful strategies, delivering long-term objectives, and enhancing high-quality, valued service delivery. My leadership is underpinned by high emotional intelligence, ensuring a values-based culture where respect and accountability are paramount. I am adept at adapting to meet evolving needs in dynamic environments, coaching and mentoring, and optimising organisational structure through sustainable finance and resource management. I enable high-performing multi-disciplinary teams to implement transformational change and exceed goals. I have been an active member of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) for over 15 years, serving on the Executive Committee since 2017, holding the agency PCO Chair position (2018-2020), and was elected Treasurer in 2023. At Bioscientifica we are a profit-for-purpose organisation; which does exactly what it says it does - all fees received are gift-aided back to into advancing scientific and clinical education and research.
