About Kate Scott

I love making things. I started out in mechanical engineering in R&D and product development, and started teaching myself Python on the side for fun. The programming bug bit me pretty hard and I started finding ways to add code to my workday, from learning JavaScript to better understand post processor errors at Autodesk to writing bash scripts at ZipFlyer to help automate tasks. I decided to make the jump from mechanical to software engineering and got a job with Leif, a fintech startup that uses alternative education financing methods to make education more affordable for students. In that role, I was able to rapidly expand my full stack skillset and put my project management skills to good use, all while helping to make the world a bit better. I'm currently looking for my next challenge.
