About Kate Strittmatter

With over seven years of work experience in higher education and student affairs, I am passionate about engaging and empowering international students in their academic and personal journeys. As an International Outreach Officer at Pierce College, I support the recruitment, orientation, retention, and success of over 160 international students from more than 30 countries. I collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to develop and implement programs and services that foster intercultural awareness, academic excellence, and social integration. I also leverage my skills in student engagement, communication, and event planning to create and facilitate activities that enhance the student experience and promote the college's mission and values. Previously, I worked as an Engineering Education Outreach Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I coordinated and delivered outreach programs and events for K-12 students, teachers, and parents to increase their interest and participation in STEM fields. I have a MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA in History from the University of Dayton. I am a lifelong learner who enjoys traveling, reading, and volunteering in my spare time.
