Background

About Kate Townsend

I am a communications and digital product management specialist, working for over a decade in the third and humanitarian sectors. Originally from the UK, I live in Berlin, Germany and work remotely for UNHCR based in Geneva, Switzerland.I began my career in Digital Analytics before moving into content strategy and production and CMS management.I am always driven, first and foremost, by the cause. I started out at a charity campaigning against factory farming, working to improve the lives of the billions of animals farmed for food each year, where I worked on digital advocacy, fundraising, content production and analytics. I now work for the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) Coordination Team at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, working towards a more equitable world for refugees and their host communities. I work on strategic communications, content production, and manage the Digital Platform (https://globalcompactrefugees.org/) to demonstrate the impact of the GCR, working with governments, refugees, international organisations, global business and religious leaders, as well as other UN institutions. In my spare time, I love both solving and creating puzzles, as well as reading and swimming in lakes.
