About Katelyn Cassin
Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Peacebuilding and Local Knowledge Network (PLKN). My research focuses on cultural and relational peacebuilding, everyday interfaces, UN peacekeeping, south Lebanon and the shifting global order. I defended her doctoral dissertation in September 2022 on “The Lebanese Way': Hybridization and Cultural Peacebuilding Through 'Interfaces and Interchanges' Across the Peacekeeper-Local Divide“ that identified the importance of hospitality and local interlocutors in international peacebuilding operations. I have been a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholar and held several Ontario Graduate Scholarship awards to fund my doctoral research. I'm an experienced social sciences researcher with a demonstrated history of writing on subjects including comprehensive and whole of government approaches, security sector reform, international development theory and policy, as well as peacebuilding theory and policy.
