About Katelyn Harris

As a Community Outreach and Education Coordinator at Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association (ACFFA), I am passionate about connecting the public with the wonderful opportunities in the Aquaculture sector. I graduated from NBCC with an associate's degree in Aquaculture in 2012, and I have developed core competencies in biosecurity, health and safety, and molecular biology. In my current role, I work with various stakeholders, including schools, industry partners, government agencies, and media outlets, to promote and educate about the benefits, challenges, and innovations of Aquaculture in the region. I enjoy collaborating with a diverse and dynamic team of professionals who share my vision and values of sustainable and responsible Aquaculture. I believe I can bring a unique and valuable perspective and experience to the industry, having previously worked as a Logistics Coordinator at Stewart Farms, a vertical farming company, and as a Molecular Biology Technician at the Research & Productivity Council, a contract research organization. Additionally, I have successfully operated numerous Recirculating Aquaculture Systems.
