About Katelyn Luu

Hello! My name is Katelyn Luu, and I am an Industrial & Systems Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I actively engage in technology & management consulting, data analytics, and STEM/robotics diversity outreach initiatives. For six years, I have honed my skills as a competitor in FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics, and have accrued invaluable experience in leading a team, constructing and designing mechanical systems, and programming autonomous self-localization pathing. My achievements in this field include winning the 2024 Illinois National Center for Women & IT (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Award and the 2023 Illinois FIRST Tech Challenge Dean's List Award. Additionally, I aspire to elevate technology and robotics to greater platforms in the future through hackathons and consulting while making tangible impacts by consulting for pro-bono nonprofit organizations and startups within my communities. Above all, it has become my life mission to provide educational opportunities to increase diversity in STEM and consulting. Through the Whitney Young Robotics Nonprofit Organization, I have led a team to collaborate with dozens of organizations nationwide including TechGirlz, CodeHS, Girls Who Code, Pretty Girls are Educated, Chicago Public Library, and Chicago Public Schools to bring robotics education to classrooms around the world. I am also a frequent ambassador at Chicagoland STEM events and the Museum of Science and Industry, where I have had the privilege of working with over bright students. I am committed to furthering these initiatives in the future, contributing to diversity, equity, inclusion, and advancing the development of tomorrow's solutions in technology and consulting.
