About Katelyn Merrett

Nursing is an art and a science. The applied and the theoretical. As a Registered Nurse, I choose to embody all aspects of nursing by engaging in evidence-based practice, critical care training, research, quality improvement initiatives, and leadership. My UBC Masters of Nursing (MSN) degree specialized in nursing leadership and is enriched by frontline leadership experience as a Resident Care Coordinator and Quality Improvement Team member. Previous work as an educator, combined with experience in nursing education, orientation, and clinical instruction, underscores a large nursing education Quality Improvement initiative I spearheaded for Vancouver Coastal Health. And at the heart of it all, I am driven for continuous learning in my clinical area. I have completed the Emergency Nursing Speciality Certificate from BCIT and continue to take clinical courses for skill development. My goal is to combine excellence in clinical practice with emotionally intelligent frontline leadership to build capacity and unity among care staff.
