About Katelyn Mitchell
As a young girl, it became clear that all I wanted was to pursue a career involving animals. Progressing through high school, I started working with animals volunteering my time at an animal shelter, vet clinic and a hydrotherapy centre. I then started working toward a career with animals and in particular Veterinary Science, starting with the Greyhound Racetrack and then Bligh Park Vet. I am a Vet Nurse at the moment for Bligh ParkVeterinary Clinic and have been working here since early December. I successfully completed a class for Natural Therapies for Animals – Massage. To assist me with animal recovery after surgery, arthritic pain or just for general massage to calm. My main goal is to become an exotic Vet with the ability to be a Zookeeper. So I decided to complete a Bachelor of Science Zoology and then enter into a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I am currently studying Bachelor of Zoology at UWS and was successful in receiving an internship/scholarship with Sydney Zoo.
