About Katelyn Murphy

I am Katie Murphy, a design/manufacturing engineer in the medical device industry. My experience at Arcamed LLC as a manufacturing engineer, extensive 3D modeling/printing work, and combination of a Butler University computer science B.S. degree with a Purdue University biomedical engineering B.S. degree uniquely qualifies me within the industry. With each position I pursue, I ultimately desire to develop breakthrough medical technology that improves patient lives in a meaningful and positive way. As a manufacturing engineer at Arcamed, I've worn many hats- Sole creator of in-process manufacturing prints/models/comparator overlays for instrument & implant division - Designer/modeler/3D-printer of CNC mill fixturing, conductive wire EDM fixturing, laser etch fixturing, and welding fixturing - Leader of instrument & implant capacity planning/scheduling/machine metrics of mills, wire EDM, Swiss lathes, lathes, and welders - Programming/implementation of automated robots for machine tending and part loading - Identification, disposition, root causing, and logging of nonconforming material My prior internship and coursework have rounded out my competency in-CAD modeling (Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Meshmixer)-Programming (C++, MATLAB, SQL, machine learning, PowerBI, Excel)-Novel product design (validation, verification, design, quality, and manufacturing processes) Additionally, I have had wonderful experiences such serving as a-3-D printing/design fellow for Indiana University Hospital's Simon Cancer Center -Quality systems intern at Becton Dickinson (BD)-(IN)SCRIBE scholar in an immersive biomedical clinical residency program Finally, playing division 1 college lacrosse for Butler University and assistant coaching for Marian University lacrosse have given me impeccable communication skills, time management proficiency, and an unparalleled work ethic.
