About Katelyn Proberts

Through high school, I worked as a customer service representative at JC Penney's and then was given the opportunity to work in the back stock room to help with pricing and signing. Through this work, I learned how to approach and speak to customers as well as understand the mechanics in day to day operations that help a business run. During the summer months, I was given internships with Dodge City Down Town development in which I entered data, organized events, and networked with city officials. When I got to college I joined Alpha Gamma Delta, a women's fraternity. In my time I held two positions; Vice President of Finance and Panhellenic Recruitment chair. Both positions taught me how to collaborate with my peers, organize information, enter data, budge, and leadership skills. In college, I worked as a Personal Care staff at a home for IDD men. During my time there I was placed in charge of meal prepping/budgeting, managing the men's schedules and medication, and their overall physical, mental, and emotional care. I am currently employed with the USD 489 school district in Hays, Kansas as a Headstart Teacher's Assistant. In this role, I am not only in charge of helping the children learn but also helping the lead teacher with daily tasks and procedures that we must follow under both the National Headstart as well as our individual district. As I work I am continuing my education by attaining a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as certifications in doula education and lactation education. My goal with this to help mothers through the entire birth process through fertility, conception, pregnancy, and postpartum.
