About Katherine Bercasio

Katherine F. Bercasio believes that design goes beyond images and fonts—design is storytelling. And her stories have been told everywhere from glossy magazine racks to global boardrooms. She started in the Philippines as Art Director for Cosmopolitan Philippines and Creative Director for Maxim Philippines, later taking her eye for visuals to Singapore for a two-year stint at MediaCorp. Her design passport didn’t stop there—she branded organizations in Milan and New York, and even crafted layouts for Australia’s Franchise Buyer Magazine. A natural mentor, Katherine authored design textbooks, wrote course syllabi, and helped build an entire multimedia arts curriculum at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, where she was awarded Faculty Hall of Famer. In 2024, Paris honored her with an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism—though she jokes it mostly means she can officially “design with heart.” Beyond design, Katherine has also been deeply active in the Filipino-American community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce of Hollywood and later with the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles. Funny, adaptable, and armed with more design tricks than Photoshop has layers, Katherine has a knack for turning big ideas into visuals that stick. Today, she lends her creativity to the City of Carson and the National Diversity Coalition, with past stints including 1Heart Caregiver Services and an ever-growing list of international clients who keep her design passport well-stamped.
