Experienced communications professional with a history in the municipal government sector and IAP2-trained public participation practitioner. Experience Leduc County – Communications Coordinator May 2008 to present | Nisku, AB Communications lead for Leduc County’s Mayor and Council. Responsible for key message development, speaking notes, media support and speeches- Prepare annual State of the County address and accompanying presentation for Leduc County’s Mayor- Prepare briefing notes and advocacy-focused fact sheets for Mayor and Council for meetings with ministers and regional mayors. Responsible for the communications needs of nine County departments. Responsibilities include writing, graphic design, communications planning, public participation planning, media relations, event planning, social media monitoring, key message development, internal communications and more. Project team member currently developing Leduc County’s first Advocacy Plan and related materials, such as briefing notes and fact sheets. Part of a small team; strong multi-disciplinary skills that allow me to transition from one project to another quickly and easily. Communications lead for the redevelopment of Leduc County’s website, which launched on time and on budget in Dec. Communications lead for the development of Leduc County’s secure pages, which is a staff-only section of the website for internal communications. Development and design of Leduc County’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan. Development and design of Leduc County’s Resident Guide — a 24-page magazine distributed to all new residents.
