About Katherine Jaffe

My name is Katherine Jaffe and I am currently working to receive a Bachelor's in Science in Psychology with a double minor in Neuroscience and Film Studies. I currently work in an addiction lab investigating compulsive drug-seeking with rodent models and cocaine. I am also a part of A&M’s Research Ambassador Program, University Honors Program, Psychology Honors Program, and the National Psychology Honors Society. My current interests include neuropsychopharmocology, pharmacodynamics, and substance use treatments. My future research interests involves the implications of drug abuse on neuroplasticity and future ramifications for developing psychiatric disorders as well as neurodegenerative diseases. My ambition is to attend medical school and specialize in neuropsychiatry in hopes in helping clients suffering from diminished brain functioning due to drug abuse. I would as well like to counsel those struggling with drug abuse in order to work on preventive treatments for psychiatric disorders.
