About Katherine Lyons

With over 13 years of diverse professional experience, I bring a unique blend of expertise across law enforcement, federal consulting, and federal government employment. My career began in law enforcement as a police officer, where I developed a strong foundation in public safety and crisis response. I then transitioned into federal consulting, supporting state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) stakeholders in the development of interoperable communications strategies for emergency communications. My consulting experience expanded to include risk management work with port authorities, where I conducted risk assessments and developed funding strategies aligned with federal grant opportunities. This included close collaboration with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to incorporate port security needs into grant programs. In addition, I have extensive experience in grants management consulting, having managed operations of a $1 Billion State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program, as well as a tribal grant initiative. Most recently, I served in a federal role in grants administration at the Department of Energy, overseeing critical funding efforts to support energy initiatives. I am currently seeking new opportunities to leverage my background in project management, communication strategies, and grants administration.
