My experience as a trademark attorney has taught me that people tend to have strong feelings about trademarks. Folks often fall in one of two camps:(1) trademarks are pointless, or (2) trademarks are important. Trademarks are an intangible asset, and when a person can't touch something, that can make it hard to appreciate its value. That's where I come in! We only need to look at the world through the lens of a child's eyes to see the enormous and powerful impact trademarks have in society. Trademark is a fancy word for brands; brands begin influencing children from the very early stages of development. Children show brand recognition, awareness, and preferences before they can even read - as a parent, I'm speaking from first-hand experience. Alas, I digress, as I'm supposed to use this section as an opportunity to tell you about myself.If you didn't catch on from the first two paragraphs, I'm passionate about trademarks and helping folks protect their valuable and important brands. Brands are a reflection of a company's identity, and protecting one's identity is paramount. I have the pleasure of working with businesses of all sizes and stages of maturity, in a broad array of industries, located throughout the world, with cradle to grave protection of their brands. Beyond the world of intellectual property, I have a robust practice working with NY wineries, cideries, breweries and distilleries with securing licensing, maintaining licenses in compliance with state and federal regulations, trade compliance, state franchise protection, product labeling and registration, advertising and marketing, product recalls, and audits or investigations involving the TTB and NYSLA,When I take off my attorney hat, you can find me hanging with my family, listening to true crime podcasts, reading psychological thrillers, supporting a newly discovered skin care/make-up brand, or planning the next family vacation.
