About Katherine Moline
I research technological and social dynamics in relation to design through practice-based research in curatorial projects and research methods innovation. Since 2014 I have disseminated this research to scholarly audiences in five book chapters, keynote papers, panel introductions and exhibitions. The public exhibitions I have curated for UNSW Galleries, and led curatorial teams for at RMIT Design Hub, Griffith University Art Museum and Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University showcase international leaders in design research. My innovation in research methods (2010 - 2017) titled Myths of the Near Future advanced qualitative research methodologies. In Myths I recombined co-design and readymade cultural probes to engage end-users in the creative production of visual narratives on data with mobile phones, CCTV, and digital detritus. My current research titled Expanding Experimental Aesthetics in the Social Imaginary (EEASI) upscales Myths to a broader audience.
