About Katherine Monaghan

I am a results focussed strategic thinker with a high level of expertise in translational research and a passion for drug development. I have strong project management skills including task prioritisation, communication, project strategy and data management. With significant experience within a complex commercial research organisation working within, and leading, local and global cross-functional teams I am not afraid to ask questions and face challenges. With a genuine passion for problem solving, process improvement and using our experience to efficiently streamline efforts and deliver value to projects and teams. My diverse scientific background that has encouraged my curiosity and given me valuable rational thinking, strategic planning and problem solving skills. I am currently looking to further my leadership and increase my overall influence and contribution. My current role involves using my project management skills and translational expertise to support researchers to realise the potential of their ideas, identify impact and develop their projects to attract funding. With particular focus identifying the work bridging the gap between early research and potential commercial investment. My previous role involved leading a group of translational researchers, as well as various project and delivery teams, to support clinical development through biomarker identification and the development of biomarker strategies, investigations into MOA, and characterisation of targets. As well as providing ongoing support for projects in clinical trials through provision of key data, scientific rationale and strategy, support of clinical data analysis and understanding of disease indications. Key to success within my diverse roles has been my effective communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation and project planning skills.
