About Katherine Murphy

Health scientist with over 10 years of progressive experience translating complex epidemiologic and RWE data into actionable insights for global health impact. With specific interest and knowledge in communicable disease and surveillance system strengthening, I have significant experience in designing and implementing observational and minimally interventional studies including those using both qualitative and quantitative methods, those involving analysis of large scale patient registry or surveillance data, and exploring vaccine and other disease intervention effectiveness. As an Evaluation Fellow in the Global Respiratory Viruses Branch of US CDC, I have become subject matter expert in leading monitoring and evaluation (M&E) initiatives, designing evidence-informed strategies, and coordinating cross-functional efforts across LMIC settings intended to fill programmatic gaps. I completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and my Masters in Public Health with a focus in Epidemiology at Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. As I conclude my fellowship with CDC and step into a health scientist role, I remain passionate about leveraging my epidemiological expertise to drive sustainable health system improvements and support high-impact and culturally responsive health initiatives at the global scale.
