About Katheryn Bennett

Katheryn is an education and development professional specialising in the leadership and management of education programs; evidence-based policy making through research, evaluation and knowledge generation; policy influence and advocacy. She is also a partnership specialist, having brokered many successful large education partnerships with numerous development cooperation agencies and with the private sector. Prior to her work at UNICEF, and undertaking study at the University of Cambridge, she worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) in education research and service delivery; humanitarian assistance and social protection. Experience in leading large multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams; and in designing and implementing large and complex programmes for basic and higher education, scholarships and human resource development in Myanmar, Indonesia, Lao PDR, East Timor and Cambodia. Currently posted to Indonesia. Previously posted to Australian embassies in Indonesia and Laos for six years. Also worked on short assignments in Australian embassies in Myanmar and Cambodia over 4.5 years.
