About Kathleen Clavin

Kathleen is a licensed clinical social worker passionate about fostering community and creating safe environments where individuals can flourish. Utilizing a calm, human-centered approach with an emphasis on individual strengths, Kathleen aims to empower clients to be the masters of their own healing. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and believes in its power to help heal the inner child. Additionally, her sense of humor helps create a comfortable and engaging atmosphere, making therapy both effective and enjoyable. Kathleen enjoys working with adolescents, families, and young adults. Her clinical experience and research have facilitated work with several challenges that can be addressed in therapy. She specializes in anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, school-based issues, and relationship issues. Kathleen holds a bachelor’s degree of social work from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s degree of social work from the University of Denver. In addition to her degrees, she earned certificates in child and adolescent trauma and animal assisted interventions. Her post-graduate work was primarily focused on serving individuals and families in Colorado who have been impacted by trauma. Kathleen is so excited to continue her work in the East Nashville community!
