About Kathryn Mazon

A retired Target Corporation executive with more than 30 years of experience. Driving change in both the retail and non-retail areas of the company business. Positions have included various roles within Merchandising including Buyer and in Target Properties; Store Planning: Retrofits, Construction and Fixture Purchasing, and Strategic Sourcing-Supplier Diversity. These past experiences enabled me to excel as a Senior Business Development Lead on the Strategic Sourcing-Supplier Diversity team. Here I identified new business partners for Target, as well as provided counsel to business'; with a keen insight into the company culture, vendor expectations, business objectives by category, and alerted both new and existing companies to pending procurement opportunities. Some major accomplishments include: identifying a system process to enable non-retail freight to move via the retail distribution network, led the implementation of scan-based trading, drove golden sales performance year over year, as well as identified and launched multiple opportunities for new and existing partners across the enterprise. I attended Northwestern College, majoring in business management. Served on local and national committees, for the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), The Food Marketing Institute’s (FMI) Supplier Diversity Committee and the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Corporate Advisory and Procurement Councils. I was appointed as the Pillar Lead for Target Corporations Women's Business Council, and named an adviser to the leadership of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Business Council.
