About Kathryn Yock

I have over ten years hands on experience working with Australian native wildlife in a variety of settings (clinical, fieldwork, rescue and rehabilitation). In my current and previous roles I have not only contributed to the in situ conservation of wildlife, but also managed the reception area within one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, alongside managing a team of over 150 volunteers, 30 staff and countless students. These roles have equipped me with many technical and transferable skills, including excellent time management, alongside ample experience in recruitment, organising events, facilitating training programs and teaching. I also have experience collaborating and building relationships with members of the public and key internal and external stakeholders (local council, State Government and NGOs etc) and contributing to formal species translocation requests. All my previous work experience has required a high degree of adaptability and I am very comfortable working in dynamic, fast paced and high pressure environments. Personally I have a strong interest in economics, including its application in the realm of environmental management and conservation and I aspire to have a diverse career. But perhaps most importantly, I’m accountable, self aware, reliable and eager to learn.
