About Kathy Collier

I have been in healthcare since I was 17 yrs old. I started on the first high school rookie program in the state of Indiana in 1982 as a volunteer EMT. Forty-three years later, I am still serving my community as an EMT, and I received my firefighting certifications at age 59. I have an associate's degree in respiratory therapy, a bachelor's degree in health arts and a master's degree in management. I was employed at St Vincent Hospital for 20 yrs as a respiratory therapist serving in many roles. I landed at IU Health Ball Memorial in 2003 where I continued my career as a respiratory therapist, mentor and supervisor. In 2011, until 2011, I pursued an interest into the world of technology and informatics. For the last 14 years, I have been in clinical informatics. Most recently, the team lead from 2022 to current state. I love challenges and solving problems. I encourage personal and professional growth and celebrate even the smallest of wins. Attitude is everything. Giving praise and supporting team members are key to success. I am a member of several organizations, certified as a CAHIMS thru HIMSS and have six sigma certifications. In 2025, I obtained my clinical informaticist EPIC certification.
