About Kathy Gates

Hi There, I own The Running Well Store with three locations in the Kansas City metro. We focus on getting our customers in the right pair of shoes for their biomechanics. This fitting process helps runners run with less aches and pains, allows nurses and factory workers to be on their feet all day and individuals who have foot conditions to understand what they can do to overcome their discomfort. I started out in advertising having worked for Bernstein Rein, McCann Erickson, Grey Worldwide and VML. Working at an ad agency is a great way to get exposed to several different businesses, how they operate and learning their strengths and weaknesses. I started working at Sports Medicine Metro Walk and Run on Barry Road in 2012. I had an agreement with the original owner that if I could grow the business to a set amount that I would buy the business. In March of 2013 I purchased the newly renamed The Running Well Store. Since then I have expanded the store to have a location in Lee's Summit, MO and Mission, KS. I am very proud of the work we do at The Running Well Store. It is a company made up of amazingly caring people who want to see our clients achieve their goals.
