About Kathy Mason

Leader in digital health and care systems and service transformation, with significant policy and strategy experience gained over 30 years’ senior management, board level and national roles across public and private sectors. Current portfolio combines management consultancy, not for profit and voluntary roles - leading and contributing to major health and care digital and data programmes and initiatives. Recent and current clients include Digital Health and Care Wales - Programme Director WCCIS 2018-21, Government of Jersey, NHS England. Current and past voluntary roles with digital health and care sector organisations include: University of Wales Trinity St David's, British Computer Society (BCS), and techUK. Holds a Masters in Health Information Management and is an alumna of the Kings Fund Top Manager Programme; committed to lifelong development and participates in a national learning set with senior health leaders. Previous experience includes: leading role in the successful implementation of digital imaging capability (PACS) across England; established a national benefits management approach for NHS IT; led the informatics policy team that published the 2012 DH Information Strategy for Health and Care: The Power of Information; and subsequently established NHS England’s Patient Online Programme. Earlier NHS experience as CIO and Trust Board Director.
