About Kathy Pierce

Kathy Pierce is a 37-year veteran of entrepreneurial blood, sweat and tears. She is the Founder, owner and President of Designer Walls, Inc. Founded in 1987 in a second bedroom of a two-family house, Designer Walls, Inc. grew into a multi-million dollar contracting firm performing turn-key hotel renovation projects as well as a full range of interior construction services. Kathy developed a unique system for sequencing labor functions and taught her team enabling the company to perform projects all over the country. Her resume of clients includes Marriott Hotels, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels as well as Schools and Universities throughout Ohio. Her passion and expertise in business combined with the development of her team led the company to receive an abundance of recognition and awards. Kathy is a past recipient of The Ohio Governor’s Award for Women’s Excellence in Enterprise/ Construction Category. She has been featured in Oprah and Entrepreneur Magazine, Crains Cleveland Business, Cleveland Plain Dealer, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and many other publications. Kathy has an affinity for exploring approaches that may not have been traditionally employed, from recruiting new talent to creating a dream team culture. Her humanitarian projects include an annual Adopt-A-Family campaign, which has assisted hundreds of children in Northeast Ohio through donations from her business and personal network. She is an active leader and volunteer of many organizations that include Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Inlet Dance Company, US Together, former advisor to St. Elias Church, and consultant to many small businesses. After stepping down from Designer Walls in 2023, she was compelled to tell her “Evolution of a Business” story and has been coaching, teaching and speaking about her experiences.
