There are many writing coaches, ghostwriters, and publishing consultants in the world, and I know you have choices. My recommendation as you consider publishing your first (second, third…) book is to find the right person for you. This is a relationship, not a transaction, and you'll spend a lot of time sharing your innermost thoughts and ideas with that person who will help you bring your writing, your message, into the world. You'll need to trust this person, be vulnerable in sharing your story, and have confidence in your collaborative partner. Working with a writing coach and ghostwriter will help you effectively discover and refine your author’s voice, identify your unique message, and distribute that message to YOUR audience. Why me? With both practical and technical experience in the world of writing, I have extensive knowledge of the writing and publishing process (yes, it spans over thirty years, but now I risk dating myself). I'm intimately familiar with the publishing process from start to finish, from proofreading and copywriting to production, cover artwork, interior designs, and marketing. That foundational knowledge has helped me guide clients in the art of writing and marketing their publications, many of whom have been published in literary journals and become best-selling authors! As a university professor, I also have honed my craft in teaching the writing process. In addition to a vast amount of publishing knowledge and a sound grasp of the English language, I have a unique approach to business and consulting. As a writer and entrepreneur, I believe our books are an important asset in building a business. They allow our audience to get to know us well before they invest thousands of dollars in hiring us as speakers, consultants, or coaches. I also believe that when ideas come to us, we are chosen to act as the channel for that specific message—whether it’s a blog, a book, a course, or a speech. It’s our responsibility to listen and birth that message into the world. I’ve experienced firsthand what happens when you listen to what wants to be expressed. Each day, we get to say “yes” to taking our place as leaders and role models for generations to come.
