About Kathya Meza

With a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University and experience in government public service, my academic and professional background combine technical knowledge and application with public policy research, stakeholder management and engagement, and information dissemination. My journey at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has been defined by a commitment to educating and supporting underrepresented communities. Providing strategic direction and oversight as the IEA primary point person for a diverse range of policy areas, including biotech and health science research (Cancer Moonshot, ARPA-H, NIH), Latino health, immigration, and environmental justice allow me to apply my problem-solving skills and interpersonal communication expertise to drive health equity and engage with Latino and Immigrant communities among others. The team at HHS benefits from my ability to create comprehensive engagement plans and our collective effort ensures that Latino health, immigration, and environmental justice are addressed with the sensitivity and urgency they require. My focus on fostering connections through stakeholder engagements reflects my drive for a culture of inclusivity. I am driven by the goal to contribute to a diverse and equitable healthcare landscape, leveraging our shared experiences and perspectives for a healthier tomorrow.
