About Katie Allen
As a child I wanted to be an archeologist, or a costume designer, or a gardener, or an engineer, or…you get the picture. I wanted to do everything! Now I’m a statistician, and it’s the perfect fit. Being a statistician allows me to repeatedly step into someone else’s shoes and solve problems from their perspective. Through these experiences I have come to believe that curiosity and compassion are integral to developing effective data solutions. I started my career as a biostatistician working in cancer and genetic research. A few years later I pivoted to teaching undergraduate students the basics of data science in R, Python, and Tableau. A cross-country move has prompted me to pivot again, and I am excited to return to industry. I am a relentless problem solver who thrives on learning new skills and investigating data nuances.
